1-Click Purchase

This week, as I've been caught between final projects and the craze and excitement of Christmas, the distant thought of needing to purchase gifts for family has creeped its way into my to-do list. WHY. WHY WHY WHY are finals so late? Why is it the norm to get home 3 days before Christmas?! Whatever. It's fine. I'm okay. :). Something I would like to address, though, is this gift-purchasing. Unfortunately, I was too consumed with homework over Thanksgiving break, that I did not dare check out Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, but Amazon deals ads have been popping up on my feed, convincing me that it's not too late to wisely use that 1-click purchase button. In fact, it is the absolute perfect time to be easily purchasing things, because it's crunch time. #13DAYS. So yesterday, I took a second to look online for this hat my brother was wanting for Christmas, and WHADDYA KNOW? I could ship it to my house to arrive by THURSDAY. It's incredible how much we take advantage of the ease of online shopping. Cheers to media in the form of shopping! Thank goodness it exists, because I sure don't enjoy going shopping like I did as a pre-teen. :)

    I definitely relate to this post. Amazon prime is a beautiful and wonderful thing. Haha there is something fun to me about clicking one button and knowing I have a package with something fun coming my way in just a matter of days. This new era of online shopping has changed the way I shop completely. I don't like going into stores anymore (the way I did when I was a pre-teen as well) haha

The Marco Polo Application Saved My Relationships

What a week of media usage by yours truly, a millennial. Something about me is that I struggle to feel motivated to spend time on communicating with people through personal media, mainly referring to the more time-consuming ways such as texting. I've had to reanalyze my "why" of my communication with others, and I came to the conclusion that, if I choose to take time to care for people from afar, I want to make it of a higher and more enjoyable quality! So... there was the answer: THE MARCO POLO APPLICATION. You see, I noticed that I had this habit of communicating with people over text grudgingly because of the perceived burden it placed on me to express exactly what and how I wanted to through a limited means. Is that not the very stigma of media we are trying to banish from our social lives? It is indeed a bad thing to base relationships with our fellow humans on artificial fronts. Okay, if you're not laughing now, then something's wrong with you ^^! LOL, but in all seriousness, how grateful are we for funny Youtube videos? Media can absolutely be used for evil, but how cool is it that, if we have access to the internet (and maybe some headphones), we can cheer ourselves up, make inside jokes, and pass on laughs. You've got original funny videos made, and then (sometimes) funny parodies of those funny videos made, and you can watch it over and over again! I just got a kick out of watching Peanut-Butter-Boy again, and will continue to enjoy
